I'm leaving school to write. It's scary-wonderful. I am freeing up my time and my attentions. Going to school had started to feel like a sentence. It wasn't bad. I just didn't feel like I had the "ooomph" in me to apply myself. Decidedly ooomphless, I felt.

I am happy. And I'm ready to deal with the results, however they turn out. I have one completed script that's going through one last "polish" and an idea to write a great "Joan of Arcadia" episode. Hopefully, that goes well. I've written one short and hope to write a couple more soon.

Oh! Good news on the actors front. I attended a script reading last night at Barnes and Noble. I won't say much about the guy's script (although I did love his eccentric characters), but I will say the actors were energetic and sweet. And they told me they'd do a read-through of my script! Woo-hoo :-) I don't know what venue we'll use.... Maybe I can call Barnes and Noble and see if they'll let us use the space?? Or try to find someone's house... My apartment doesn't have that kind of room in it.

Where there's a will there's a way. Wherever we do it, it's going to be exciting! To finally hear the darn thing read all the way through, it'll be easier to distinguish weak areas and strong ones, what works and what doesn't.

Speaking of working, since I now only have an easy job and a writing life, I have no excuse for my room to like the trainwreck it does. I'm going to go spiffy it up.

Spiffy would make a good jelly brand name. You'd have Spiffy with your Skippy (peanut butter). So you could actually order a regular old peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and call it a Spiffy Skippy. I want that on a menu somewhere.

The crevices of my mind are sticky.
